It’s finally up! I’m excited to showcase a statistical test recommender system I’ve been designing — whereby you can click the details about the goals of your analysis, the variables at hand — and a recommended statistical test will be shown to you!

Of course, my tool is by no means a perfect one. Some nomencalaure is not the same throughout all the statistical methods — eg Structural Equation Modelling uses Exogenous/Endogenous variables, whereas Regression uses Independent Variable/Dependent Variable. Not to mention Multi-level Modelling uses Fixed/Random Effects, the term Multivariate is ambiguous when it comes to repeated measures, etc etc etc.
There’s no way I can account for all these variables and still give a coherent, intuitive interface for users. As a result, my Statistical Test Picker is actually primarily targeted to a Beginner to Intermediate level of analysis (some of the more complex methods I did not even list as part of my recommendations).
Nevertheless, I do believe this tool has immense value to students, researchers, and people who just want some form of verification about their statistical analysis of choice. As a first-cut for deciding which test to use, I’m sure this tool will help you greatly!
Feel free to explore the tool — and let me know if there are any particular tests you feel I should include!
